Swansea City have long lined up the signing of Wilfried Bony from Manchester City on loan should they lose Fernando Llorente to Spurs or Chelsea on deadline day but it now looks like that deal to bring in Bony is in doubt.
The Manchester City striker knows his chances of joining Swansea are based on whether or not Llorente leaves the club on deadline day and so has created himself another option.
We understand from a very strong source in Italy that Bony has now agreed personal terms with Verona and all that is left to complete the deal is for Manchester City to agree to the loan terms offered by the Italian club, which match those offered by Swansea City where a deal was agreed in principle.
It’s understood that Bony would prefer a new challenge after a frustrating couple of years in England and has asked Manchester City to accept the offer of Verona rather than Swansea City.
We expect the forward to pass a medical on Thursday and the signing to be announced before the window closes.
Swansea fans, who should your club turn to now Bony appears to be going elsewhere? Verona fans, are you happy to see Bony arrive at your club?
