Ross Barkley’s future has been hanging in the balance all summer and whilst it looked like a move to Spurs might have been on the cards Chelsea now look to have stepped up their efforts to sign the England attacking midfielder by putting in an offer of £25m.
Barkley has been out of action since he injured himself in pre-season and despite the fact he is unlikely to be match ready until December, Chelsea are keen to land the midfielder whilst he is available at a value price.
Everton have strengthened massively this summer and a lot of that was due to the fact they had resigned themselves to losing Barkley in this window.
With the player injured it’s believed the club are willing to lower their valuation of the player to get a deal done but it’s my understanding that Everton are still hopeful of getting £35m for the player which could materialize should Spurs enter the running to kick off a bidding war.
It’s a transfer that’s going to go to the wire but it is looking increasingly likely that Barkley will be playing his football in London this season…
Where do you think Barkley will be playing his football this season when he returns from injury?
