Our source in France is now reporting that terms have been agreed for the loan transfer of Odsonne Edouard from PSG to Celtic on a season long loan deal.
The deal is now only subject to Edouard completing his medical in Glasgow on Thursday, there is currently no reason why the medical should throw up any problems as the player has not had any previous concerns.
19 year-old Odsonne Edouard is a highly rated in France and has represented his national team at under 17, 18 and 19 levels in recent years and is expected to be an important plater for the full national team in several years time.
The big concern for Celtic fans will likely be the players lack of big-game experience which will be a problem when facing Champions League opposition but at league level he should fair well.
He managed only 559 minutes during his loan spell at Toulouse last season scoring once but at youth international level he has been in good scoring form with 24 goals in 36 games.
The Scottish champions had suffered from a lack of options at centre-forward during early Champions League qualifying following injuries to Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele.
Though Griffiths is now fit, Rodgers is moving to bolster his squad with the addition of the France youth international.
We expect the deal to be announced by Celtic around lunchtime on Thursday.
Celtic fans, do you think he provides adequate backup to your striking options?
