Reports are emerging this evening that Chelsea have offered £25m to Inter Milan to sign Antonio Candreva.
Chelsea enquired about the player several weeks ago and were advised the Milan club would not accept anything less than £25m for the highly-rated 30 year midfielder.
Candreva joined Inter back in 2013 in a £20m move from Lazio and has played 46 games scoring 8 goals and adding 11 assists. He has also netted 6 times in 47 appearances for the Italian National Team.
It remains to be seen where Candreva will slot into the Chelsea team as he is normally deployed as a right-winger but can also operate anywhere in the attacking midfield area of the team.
At 30 he still has plenty of good years left in him and would in my view be a good addition to the squad for what is always a long season in England where rotation has become the norm in recent seasons.
It is unclear as yet if any personal terms have been agreed but this is a deal we expect to be completed before the transfer window slams shut next Thursday.
